From the Netherlands to the Orkney Islands: 100 Flexotels on board

Our team travelled from the Netherlands to the remote Orkney Islands in northern Scotland, with 100 Flexotels on board. We were on site for a special international sporting event, and the work was completed on time.

Orkney is an archipelago off the north coast of Scotland, with around 70 islands and Kirkwall as the main town. From 12 to 18 July 2025, the Orkney Islands hosted the Island Games, a major celebration of sport. Around 2,000 athletes from 24 island groups across the world competed in athletics, sailing, badminton, triathlon, squash, and more.

In collaboration with Nirvana Europe, we built a temporary Flexotel village with 100 rooms, a comfortable home base during an exciting and action packed week.

On site the team unfolded the Flexotels, connected utilities, and prepared the rooms, the plug and play design allowed fast deployment and a clean set up. Each room offered the standard Flexotel comfort, two made beds, lighting, power sockets, storage and a lockable door,

We were proud to be part of a project that brought together sport, culture and connection in a unique location. It was a strong example of Flexotels delivering comfort where it was needed.
